SO! You wanna Sing?
This is for the singer ready to UP their game!
3 Consecutive Fridays covering:
Friday, May 8: How to Learn a Song... (You mean, I can't just listen to a recording of it over and over?? Nope!)
This class is all about getting to know the juicy tid-bits of the written music. Notes, beats, time signature, rhythms, words all were chosen by the composer for a reason. Don't worry if you don't fully read music right now - though, that's an excellent goal to have - this class will show you how to read the road map to correctly preparing a song.
Friday, May 15: How to Work with a Collaborative Pianist... (You mean, I can't just give the pianist my music and assume they'll get it right?? Erm - no.)
Hear from Collaborative Pianist, Julie Page, as to the best ways to prepare your music, from creating cuts, to making clear markings as to how fast or slow you want the song to be - and nuances you want to have happen - how to breathe with your pianist - and most importantly, how to graciously talk with your pianist.
Friday, May 22: Taking it on the road! Auditions! Roles!
You've been cast in a show! Or, you're going for that big audition! Now what?? Hear how Stephen Faulk talks you through some of his best tools for really learning a role so that when you show up to rehearsals, you're off book on day one.

Stephanie Sabin, Soprano/Independent Teaching Artist and Music Director, has been teaching singers of all levels for just over 25 years. A performing vocalist herself, she is well aware of what it takes to be a successful singer. Stephanie has developed a method of teaching that for the young student, provides a healthy base for vocal growth as the student matures. For the adult singer, Stephanie's pedagogical knowledge makes it easy for her to adjust her teaching to fit the particular needs of the student, in whatever style of music they sing. Her work with the mature adult (60+ years of age) helps to restore vocal cord strength and breath support.
Stephanie is an active member (currently Board President) in the NATS San Diego chapter (the National Association of Teachers of Singing).
